Synopsis

Follow ecologist Matty Hannon on an extraordinary solo expedition as he leaves the trappings of city life behind to embrace the raw beauty of the Americas. Surfing his way along the west coast, Matty’s daring voyage takes him from the icy wilderness of Alaska to the rugged tip of Patagonia. However, just as the dangers of isolation begin to take their toll, fate intervenes. Matty meets Heather Hillier, a spirited permaculture farmer, who dares to abandon her own comforts to join him on his 50,000km odyssey.

Riding south on motorbike and horseback, their adventure transforms into something far greater. From encounters with Zapatista rebels and Amazonian shamans to Mapuche leaders whose powerful words challenge their cultural perceptions, the couple’s journey becomes a raw and moving reflection on human connection, environmental stewardship, and self-discovery.
